Turku is situated at the mouth of Aura River, on the southwest coast of Finland. It is important location for culture and business. Turku’s population is 176 242 (31.1.2010) and area is 306,4 km2. Turku is 5th largest city in Finland.
In the 20th Turku is called “Finland’s gateway to the West” because city have good connection with other countries and cities on Western Europe. Because of good connection, over three million passengers are traveling through Port of Turku every year to Stockholm and Mariehamn.
In Turku you can speak Finnish or Swedish, but almost everybody can speak English too.
